Shankweiler's Drive-In, established in 1934, is the oldest operating drive-in theater in the world and the second ever built. For over 90 years, it has delighted audiences with double features on its large outdoor screen. Located in the Lehigh Valley, Orefield, Pennsylvania, just off Route 309.

This event has become something of a legend, retold under hushed voices in theater lobbies across the country. We've been teasing its return, and here it is!

THE THING (1982) comes to Shankweiler's! John Carpenter's sub-zero shocker will be presented as a double feature with Stanley Kubrick's equally chilling masterpiece, THE SHINING (1980).

Tickets are on sale now! If you're planning on attending Saturday, January 11, and you are traveling a distance, we advise getting tickets ahead of time! This has become popular show.

Our concession stand will be open with a full menu of great things to eat and drink from simple snacks to complete meals, including the best hot cocoa in the valley!
