Shankweiler's Drive-In, established in 1934, is the oldest operating drive-in theater in the world. For over 90 years, it has delighted audiences with double features on its large outdoor screen. Shankweiler’s was recently awarded BEST DRIVE-IN THEATER in the 2026 USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
Our drive-in theater is located in the Lehigh Valley, Orefield, Pennsylvania, just off Route 309.

It's here. The single-most requested movie is here. Shankweiler's Drive-In Theatre and the Will Rogers Foundation proudly presents, THE SANDLOT! This iconic Disney comedy hits a home run onto our giant outdoor screen. A portion of admission proceeds this week will benefit the Will Rogers Foundation and their mission to support workers in our industry who experience hardship.
The Sandlot will be presented as a double feature with SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY swinging onto our screen after intermission!

Tuesday, August 18
Strange things have been happening around the theater lately, from crackling phone calls that seem to come from another time to a ghostly visage that appears for only a second before vanishing. While we can't be sure this place is haunted, it certainly is old, and with all this history, maybe something lingers.
Perhaps we'll find out on Tuesday, August 18 during a very special Retro Tuesday event! We have invited our friends at Ghost Encounters, a Lehigh Valley based paranormal investigation force and web series, to premiere one of their episodes on our giant drive-in screen! We will be showcasing the infamous HANOVERVILLE ROADHOUSE episode. After a meet and greet with the Ghost Encounters team, we will follow up with a feature presentation of POLTERGEIST.
