Shankweiler's Drive-In, established in 1934, is the oldest operating drive-in theater in the world. For over 90 years, it has delighted audiences with double features on its large outdoor screen.
Located in the Lehigh Valley, Orefield, Pennsylvania, just off Route 309.
Well this is exciting! We have been nominated to participate in USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice competition for “Best Drive-In Theater.” This is a NATIONAL contest, and we're up against some incredible competition. This is our third year in the contest. In 2024, we placed fifth, and last year, to our absolute amazement, we placed SECOND!
You can help us hold our place (or go that one notch up) by casting a vote. You can vote once a day, every day! There is no special sign-up to participate.
On Sunday, May 3, join us for Funnel Cake's Animal Pal Jamboree! This daytime event serves as a gathering of current and aspiring pet parents, and will feature local rescue organizations, shelters, nonprofits, and pet-related retail vendors & service providers.
The event runs from 9AM to 2PM, and admission is free.

Our snack bar's neon isn't just pink, it's not fuschia, it's not flamingo, it's actually magenta, and it will be lit up on April 30 for the premiere weekend of THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2!
Our cofeature has just been confirmed, and we're bringing in READY OR NOT 2: HERE I COME after intermission!
To complement this premiere, our friends from Meesha Aesthetics will be with usat the theater providing information about their aesthetic and wellness services!
We'll also have movie-inspired cookies for sale from fan-favorite Hayden's Confections!
