AMERICA’S OLDEST Drive-In
Shankweiler's Drive-In, established in 1934, is the oldest operating drive-in theater in the world. For over 90 years, it has delighted audiences with double features on its large outdoor screen. Shankweiler’s was recently awarded BEST DRIVE-IN THEATER in the 2026 USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
Our drive-in theater is located in the Lehigh Valley, Orefield, Pennsylvania, just off Route 309.

Thursday, October 15
Join us for a tribute screening that has been, and continues to be, a top request in our inbox. Disney has allowed us to show a one-night-only presentation of 9 to 5, starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and the beloved Dolly Parton. This will be an official theatrical presentation, and will screen on Thursday, October 15 at Shankweiler's Drive-In Theatre. We hope you can join us for this very special movie event as we honor the life and legacy of a truly remarkable artist and all-around good person. We miss you, Dolly.

October 16 - 18
It's a double feature of thrillers as we debut the new hit adaptation of the best‑selling novel of the same name, VERITY. After intermission, we premiere A24's infamous new drama starring Shankweiler's favorite, Robert Pattinson: PRIMETIME.

October 22
On Thursday, October 22, Shankweiler's Drive-In Theatre presents a vampiric double feature that's been on our “must screen” list for years. We start off the evening with the tale of a suburban bloodsucker causing havoc for their teenage neighbor and a local late-night TV host, and all the misadventures that follow, in FRIGHT NIGHT. After intermission, the vampires go west in a gritty and unique neo‑western that redefined the vampire genre, NEAR DARK. Both films are among my (Matt’s) personal favorites and served as a huge inspiration in my early days of filmmaking. It's a perfect nightmare come true to see these two come together at one of the best places to watch them: the drive‑in!
