Shankweiler's Drive-In, established in 1934, is the oldest operating drive-in theater in the world. For over 90 years, it has delighted audiences with double features on its large outdoor screen. Shankweiler’s was recently awarded BEST DRIVE-IN THEATER in the 2026 USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
Our drive-in theater is located in the Lehigh Valley, Orefield, Pennsylvania, just off Route 309.

Ka‑Chow! Labor Day Weekend kicks off a 20th‑anniversary celebration that brings some high octane energy to the final laps of our summertime seven-night spree before we shift gears into our fall operating schedule. CARS returns to the drive‑in for a rare cinematic event.
This iconic Disney/Pixar modern classic is especially meaningful to Lauren and me, as it pays homage to the Mother Road, Route 66, and the communities and attractions that still dot the historic highway. Our own journey along this route was a major inspiration for becoming the next stewards of Shankweiler’s! So join us for one last big summer road trip as we present a rare opportunity to see Cars on our giant screen under the stars.
This presentation will be shown as a double feature. Our cofeature will COYOTE VS. ACME!

Summer may not be over yet over, but our fall programming gets an early start with PRACTICAL MAGIC 2! Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman return in this bewitching follow-up to the beloved supernatural romance that has become a generational seasonal staple. This premiere will be presented as a double feature. Our cofeature will be announced soon!
